The Pillars of the Earth

The Book: The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett

The Date: May 19, 2008 @ 8:30 p.m.

The Place: Emily's House

A Description: In the twelfth-century feudal England, a master builder plans to erect a towering cathedral. But, unfortunately, he lives in a world of rigid class structures where corrupt kings and queens rule and the common man shows eternal promise. Around the construction site swirls a cast of characters in a story of betrayal, revenge, and love. International best-selling author Ken Follett masterfully recreates the landscape of medieval England in a pageantry of the ravages of war and the rhythms of daily life.

Twilight News

OK ladies, things are looking up. Check out these photos from the Twilight set. I know I'm feeling much better... and getting a little excited... eeek!!

Also, check out this website: www.twilightmoms.com It's pretty sweet, and good to know there are women way more obsessed than us. Their pictures of the cast are much better than on the "official" site. The soundtracks or playlists that go with the books are interesting too, some good stuff.
One last thing. Let me point out the last link on the links page lest you should miss it... Twilighter-Day Saints. Hmm.

Movie Times

I just went online to look up movie times for The Other Boleyn Girl for this Tuesday (March 18th). This is what I found.

Chandler Mall- 6:40 pm
Mesa Grande- 7:30 pm
Az Mills- 7:25 pm
Superstition Springs Mall- 6:45 pm

I figured all the other times were either too early ( like 3 or 4 pm) and the other ones were too late (9 or 10 pm). These are the only theaters remotely close to the majority of us that are playing this movie. We need to decide what works out best and plan around the movie time. I know a few people were wanting to go to dinner first to discuss the book, go see the movie and then go to ice cream to discuss the movie and the differences of the book.

March

What: The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
When Mary Boleyn comes to court as an innocent girl of fourteen, she catches the eye of Henry VIII. Dazzled by the king, Mary falls in love with both her golden prince and her growing role as unofficial queen. However, she soon realizes just how much she is a pawn in her family's ambitious plots as the king's interest begins to wane and she is forced to step aside for her best friend and rival: her sister, Anne. Then Mary knows that she must defy her family and her king, and take fate into her own hands.
When: Tuesday, March 18th
Where: A movie theater... more details to come
